Hurricane Weekend

Since I haven't updated this blog is such a long time, I felt this weekend would be a great opportunity to do a little catching up. I haven't posted all summer but that is to be expected as I try to get the beach as much as possible.

Right now I have a few projects that I'm working on. First off a wedding album that my brother asked me to make for a friend that got married in Central Park in June. I'm also working on an insane paperbag book that I found off of Youtube by Kathy of Paper Phenonomen. It's albsolutely insane. I will be posting pictures when I'm done. I've also been playing with favor ideas for my daughter's bridal shower. I'm not sure what directions I'm going in with that.

So, stay tuned for pictures of things I'm going to be creating on Sunday. I'm not scared of any ole hurricane.

Scrapper's Playground outing

Since it's been such a horribe winter, I haven't ventured out to my favorite scrapbook store, Scrapper's Playground in quite a while. Sunday, Cheryl, Tanya and myself went out there for a very relaxing day of crafting. I made these birhtday cards which I think are quite elegant. Cheryl was working on a fantastic mini book that I, of course, had to do for myself, so this is my version of her book.

One of my oldest and dearest friends moved from the area to live w/her son and wife. They built an extension for her and I made her this card to welcome her to her new home.

weekend update revised

It's only Friday night and I've accomplished my weekend goals, took the nail polish off and made and baby mini album and cards for Gina.

Weekend update

So it's finally Friday and we are in the last few days of February. Next week starts March and I cannot wait for spring to get here. It's been a long, cold, depressing, snowy winter and I'm so over it all. As it's going to be cold and wet this weekend, I believe I will stay home (again) and work on the following goals:

1. finally get the remains of nail polish off my nails and repaint.
2. work on some cards to send to my sister, Gina, as her supply is running out
3. work on a baby boy album for my sister's co-worker who became a grandparent

Sunday 2/13

So today I made it a point to get out of the the house, yay me. Carol and I had an appointment at Blossoms in Astoria for a spa mani/spa pedi and massage. Now, I'm usually not into doing a massage at a nail salon, but I've been going to Blossoms for almost a year and like the atmosphere there. They were able to put us in the same room w/ a curtain in between for the massages. The massage was decent for a nail place and they ended it using hot stones which was really good. Then we sat next to each other and had spa pedicures that involved honey. I have to say, my hands and feet are soooooo incredibly smooth and soft, it was totally worth it. Afterwards we went to L'artiste for egg cassaroles. today was good day :)

cont

The second mini album is a 3 ring binder style album that I used happy paper and titled SPRING.

February Musings

While NY has been getting slammed with one snow storm after another, I've been trying hard to keep my sanity this winter. In order not to eat my way back up the 25lbs I lost over the fall, I've been keeping myself extremely busy crafting every night.

This week I've worked on two projects so far. Both were inspired by Drew Scott from ScrappyHappiness and Laura from Follow The Paper Trail. The first mini album is an envelope album where I can put all my concert tickets in the envelope and a picture from the concert on the page.

crafting again

Over at the Cricut circle message board, She's a Sassy Lady posted a video how to make a gatefold card using the gypsy. since I'm more comfortable working w/DS, I made this one using it.
