Preparing for a Crop

I've been looking forward to the 12 hour crop I'm going to attend tomorrow and have actually been quite busy getting myself ready. I decided to bring some wordbooks I've designed to the crop in the hopes of possibly selling them. So, cricut and I have been very industrious tonight cutting lots of chipboard!! As for what I will work on tomorrow, you'll just have to see when I post my completed projects.

Doing the Happy Dance

After being sick for a week, what's the best pick me up?? A trip to Disney. That's right I said it. Disney here I come. Not only am I going down to Disney, I will be in Disney for my actual bonafide birthday. I will proudly be walking down Main Street USA wearing a birthday badge I intend to get from city hall upon entering the park. I think I'll bring my laptop and do a daily blog with pictures.

I'm bummed

Besides getting over a nasty cold, I'm very unhappy as it doesn't seem that I'm going to be able to go to disney for my birthday like I wanted. I can't seem to get a room reservation for the beginning of April. With Easter being in March, I actually thought that I could go the park without difficulty, boy, was I wrong. The only accomodation I can get is the Grand Floridian for a whopping $4,000 for a week! The week after my birthday is passover and then the flights are upward of $600. The only reasonable time to go is the end of April but then I will miss the Pirate and Princess party which is one of the things I really, really want to do. May is out and then we get into the summer and it's just too darn hot. I'm feeling sorry for myself right now, I'll get over it. To boot, my daughter gets to go away on Tuesday til April 5th. Not fair.

My sister asked me to make a gift wordbook for a friend's daughter's first birthday. This is what I came up with.

How bad can a day get??

So, I wake up this morning and drag myself out of bed to go to work, even though I would have loved to stay home today. I drive 1/2 a mile on Astoria Boulevard and hit the BIGGEST pothole ever. I mean, the thing was HUGE, how in the heck did I miss it??? INeedless to say my front left tire was making some seriously sick noise so I put on my hazzard lights and headed back home to the corner gas station to get it checked out. By the time I got there the tire was flat and the hubcab didn't look so good. So, I'm thinking this is going to be an expensive morning, but as the tire gods would have it, the tire was fine and they were able to bang out the rim I mangled! So, 35 minutes later and only $15.00 poorer, I was off to work.

Now, I get to work and decide that since it was Super Tuesday at ACMoore I would volunteer to pick up lunch and go to Staples to order envelopes and mailing lables for our new offices. I get to Staples and person behind the counter:

a. doesn't speak in any audible language I can understand

b. can't type or use a computer to save her soul

So, I offer to type my information in after impatiently waiting for her to try to get through it. I then realized I forgot to get my bosses' credit card for the order and had to use mine. As it took forever to finish up in Staples, I forgo ACMoore and just get lunch and go back to the office where I realize I put the wrong suite number on all the new envelopes! So I try to call Staples and was on hold for 45 minutes for the printing dept. I hung up and kept trying to call. Finally, someone answered and I immediately asked for a manager. I explained to the manger how I was just in the store and placed the order and made a mistake. Well to make a long story short, as the order is sent electronically, it had already been typeset by the company and I'm out of luck. So, now I'm going to have to tell everyone to manually fix our suite number on all the new envelopes.! Frustrating.

And to top it off, I placed a scrapbook order which according to UPS was delivered to the mailroom yesterday. Well, the package did not find it way to me and when I spoke to the people in the mailroom , they denied knowledge of any package and insisted that anything w/my name on it was in fact delivered. Today, the package does turn up after it had been delivered to a totally different department on another floor. Now, you need to appreciate that I was on the with UPS several times yesterday and today, all for nothing.

Well, as my daughter is on her way home finally from Florida tonight, I'm hoping the evening improves!

Weekend Madness continued

Today, I had the chance to get together with my scrapbooking friends and we drove around long island to a few scrapbook stores. Anyone in the Queens/Nassau area go check out Scrapaholics new store on Hempstead Turnpike. I love what Alison did with her space and is super excited she's going to be holding crops! If you are in the Suffolk area, check out Scrappers Playground, I was able to get o-wires from my bind-it all, yeah. Then we were off to Joanns where I made a killing on a DCWV 360 paper pack that was $9.97 regular price and I was able to use a coupon, it came to under $7.00!!!! For 360 sheets of paper!!! Here's a pic of all my goodies:

Weekend Madness

As it was a dreary Saturday here in NY, I went to ACmoore for a pick me up. They had a sale on all their paper packs and I picked up a few DCWV ones that I've wanted for a while. The afternoon brought on some torrential rain, so it was time to craft. I made this Easter album. It was easy and fun.

One is a Love wordbook, one is a camera shaped mini-album and the last is a castle shaped mini album. Once I decorate them, I will post them here with pictures anthe cut files.

Crop for a Cure

So, I went to my crop today and, of course, I didn't pack anything until last night. I put together the last six layout from my Disney trip, cut out all the elements for two wordbooks and finished up on the goofy overlay I'm doing for a swap with the cricut board. The crop was well run and I'm looking forward to the next on March 29th. Here are pictures and the cut files for the two albums.
